The staff was probably thinking "Get the HELL out of here with those BRATS!" They may look cute and happy here, but I don't have pre-sucker pictures . . . you'll have to take my word for it . . . it wasn't pretty . . . that's why there aren't pictures of the adults.

Tadda (that's Horsie's current nickname for Taylor, it's catchy, eh?) loves to go lay by Herkie on his bed in their room Taylor was tired and I couldn't get her to smile in this adorable MU cheerleading outfit, but I had to get a shot, even if she wasn't smiling! And here is Horsie, the same day, in his MU football jersey that FINALLY fits him! He got it from "Ant Brooke" when he was just a newborn and I couldn't WAIT for him to wear it! Here he is playing soccer at the Hormberg's. Yummy spaghetti dinner for Anna's 16th birthday!!! Horsie LOVES to play with his cousins Will and Joey! (And they are SO SWEET to him too! It melts my heart!) I guess he takes after me . . . Afterall, I did win the school spelling bee in 5th grade! :)

We brought ALL of our bottles to the "hos-i-bal" to "give 'em to the babies who NEED 'em." It was a sad day at the Ries home. (Actually, Horsie, our resident humanitarian, was more excited about telling everyone the story about how he, now the big boy, brought his bottles to the babies at the hospital. But poor little Totty, who is too young to understand, had a few rough days . . . well, rough for her, but she is a Libra, so it wasn't too bad for me . . . she is pretty easy.) Daddy built the kids a sandbox in our backyard . . . they love it! He filled it with 16 bags of sand . . . Ries sandboxes run deep. We have the biggest pumpkin in the neighborhood Taylor is walking . . . she took her first steps by herself on Daddy's birthday (Aug. 17), but wouldn't let go of our hands really until the day after her first birthday, even though she had been able to walk for over a month. I guess she realized she was a big girl and didn't need our finger anymore! We are all going to be pirates for Halloween . . . this was taken last weekend at Boo at the Zoo . . . it was fun. I made this hat that Taylor is wearing into a headband though. It covered all of her hair and Charlie didn't like it . . . it's much cuter now!

This is Taylor just starting to talk--it was last month (she says hi). Now she says "Ut-oh!, bye, that ("dat"), all done (the sign and sometimes "ah-du"), dada and daddy ("da-ee")." She also says Mama and Nana but I don't think she knows what they mean. She loves to wave hi and bye and point--she can point to Daddy, Horsie, Kiki (Herkie), and noses ("Where's my nose?") . . . I say "Where's Mommy?" and she gives me a blank stare! (Thanks, Tot!) . . . oh, and she says "ta-ta" which is what horsie calls her, but I don't think she knows what that means either. She points to everything and says "dat" (that) and loves to drop/throw things and say "Ut-oh!" Also, Horsie and I like to make Herkie howl by saying, "Do you want to see Coco, Porschea, How-wow (Howard)?!" (They are my brother and Jen's dogs--Herk gets all riled up and starts howling and sounds like he is saying "how-wow-wow-wow") so if we say "Coco, Porschea . . ." Taylor will say, "How-wow-wow-wow . . ." to Herkie . . . hilarious . . . I will try to catch it on video.

We had Charlie's whole family in from all over the country for his Grandpa's 90th birthday this weekend . . . such a busy and fun weekend! The girls had matching dresses all weekend, of course, and we took a big family picture in Forest Park (see light blue dresses) . . . I will post the picture of everyone when we get them back from the photographer. Charlie is starting his 2nd week in his new practice . . . he loves it and I can tell it's fun for him to own his own practice after being in school for like 100 years! We are still waiting on our stuff from the movers . . . I bet it will be this Friday . . . I really want to get the kids room set up just like we had it in Vegas so they feel at home. Moving SUCKED . . . so stressful and we were all sick with a cold and Taylor was cutting her 2 top front teeth--ouch for my baby girl and ouch for me while we were trying to move! But we are here in STL now and Horsie is LOVING having a back yard. I think he was inside for 10 seconds all day (and took a 3 hour nap to prove his exhaustion!).

It's been months since I have updated our blog!!! My STUPID computer CRASHED (and took with it many hours and hours of recipe-typing work!), so my time on the computer is limited to nights when Charlie brings his home and AFTER the kids are in bed and the house is cleaned up, which is usually really late, so I don't often get on . . . Hence the months of no pictures, which I plan on making up for in the next few days, but who knows if that will happen!!! The kiddlings are so adorable and sweet . . . getting bigger every day, of course! They just LOVE each other to pieces, which is the sweetest thing my eyes have ever seen. Taylor just screams with excitement when Horsie plays with her, and she's the first thing he asks for when he wakes up. "Totty woke up?" he asks. He also likes to wake her up when she's napping to play and has a FIT when I block him from going in to wake her! He will say, "Mommy, Totty woke up!" and honestly believing that he heard her, I will say, "Okay, let's go check, but you have to WHISPER cuz she's probably still sleeping." And he will whisper "Whisper! Shhhhh . . ." and put his finger up to his lips, but then RIGHT when we get over her and she's still sleeping, he will scream "Hi, baby!" and then she wakes up . . . he looks at me and says, "Tay-Tay woke up!" I'm like, "No, you WOKE her UP!" He is such a silly little Seahorse! Taylor is in a grab-everything-and-pull-it phase, and the other day she got a hold of a lock of Horsie's hair in bed and pulled hard. He is so sweet and understands that she's a baby and doesn't even get mad . . . he said, "No, Totty, no! Please no pull hair, Totty!" He just learned how to say "My name Charlie" and he loves asking people their name and telling him his name, but it's the same phrase/question for both "Tell 'em NAME!" and then you have to wait to see if you should tell him your name or if he wants to tell you his name, nickname, and last name (he just learned last name tonight). We went to meet my cousins who were in town today and Horsie LOVED the pool . . . I'm trying to teach him to jump off the side but he's scared . . . He says "One, two, pree, pour, . . . nine-TEN!" but then he sits down and scoots of the side after he makes an attempt to jump. He cracks me up!!! And Taylor looked just precious in her little swimming suit . . . she is such a little DOLL--the EASIEST baby on the planet! Charlie's always like, "Is she for real?!" All she does is smile and laugh. We are so blessed!!! Well, that's about it for the kids . . . not much new with Charlie and me!!! If my mom can come in this weekend, we might go see a Cirque show for a special date!!! That will be fun--I have never seen one and we CAN'T leave Vegas after living here for 2 years without seeing one, so hopefully soon! Hercules is great too--the weather's really getting nice now so he's loving getting to go to the park with the kids and me every morning. Sorry I am SO LATE in updating our page, BUT it has been SO BUSY with the two babies!!! We are SO HAPPY to WELCOME our new beautiful DAUGHTER, Taylor Elizabeth!!! Taylor was born on September 27th, 2007 at 3:50 am in Henderson, Nevada. She came into the world happy and totally healthy, weighing 6 pounds, 3 ounces, and measuring 19 inches . . . with TONS of dark, long hair (mostly in the back!) and bright blue eyes. Mommy, Daddy, Grandma Boe, the doc and 3 nurses were present at her birth . . . it was so fun and special. Here is a summary of the events leading up to seeing our baby girl for the first time: I had my weekly OB check-up on Wednesday morning, the 26th, at 10 a.m. I was 4 cm dialated and 100% effaced. The doctor said I could go any time and that as soon as labor pains got regular to head to the hospital since it would probably be fast. He said he'd bet I wouldn't make it through the weekend. I was so excited!!! I told him it would be tonight after midnight or tomorrow since there was a full moon and the date was the 27th--Charlie and I had known it would be the 27th for months . . . it was exactly one week before my due date and the full moon AND Seahorse was born on the 27th (He was exactly 1 week early too!). After my appointment, I was having a lot of pain, which I thought was from my check-up . . . Picked up my mom at the airport and then we took Seahorse to Dairy Queen since he had an appointment before mine and had to get shots. At Dairy Queen, and in a lot of pain, I realized the "pain from the check-up" was actually contractions . . . I was starting labor. When we left, I called Charlie and told him I thought I was starting labor and he may want to cancel his patients for the next day. We were so excited!!! Mom and I took Horse to Walmart cuz Mom wanted to buy him a scooter and a big ball for the park . . . I could barely walk through the store. Contractions were making me wince in pain. Took Horsie to the park . . . I just sat down and tried not to DIE while Mom played with him. The contractions weren't very close together but they were very painful. When we got home, I felt compelled to get things done around the house but knew I needed to rest . . . slept for 2 hours but kept waking up from the contractions. Charlie, Horsie, Mom, Aunt Jen (Held, not Aunt Jen Ries) and I went to Metro Pizza for dinner . . . my doctor said pizza speeds up labor and I wanted this baby out now!!! At dinner, songs about girls kept playing ("everyone knows it's Wendy" and the "Lola" song) and Mom and I looked at each other and Mom said "Oh my gosh . . . this is an omen: It's a girl. I know it." I laughed . . . no way, I said. It's a boy . . . I was "sure." (haha) I wanted to go to the hospital after we bathed Horsie and put him to bed, but since my contractions weren't regular, Charlie thought we should get some sleep and then go when they got closer. We were happy that we were able to put Horsie to bed and he wouldn't even know we were gone. I packed my bags and layed out my clothes . . . took a shower and put on mascara. I was all ready to go! When we were getting in bed, Charlie said, "Molly, I think we're having a girl. Joey and Traci did [have a girl] and your Draino test was the exact same, you said." For a split second, I thought maybe it could be a girl . . . our Draino WAS the same . . . but then I THOUGHT, "There's no way. It is a boy for sure." But for the first time I didn't FEEL sure. (All of the signs said boy: the Draino test, the ring-over-the-belly test, I was carrying SO low and ALL out front and the heartrate was low the ENTIRE pregnancy and I didn't gain any weight anywhere but my belly, which are all old wives tales for BOYS . . . hence the 'TALE' part!) I woke up around 12:30 am with bad contractions . . . layed there a while, in and out of sleep, woke Charlie at 1:30 since they were getting closer and progressively worse. He was so exhausted and still asleep so he rolled over, patted my head like a dog and said, "Good job, honey. Now go back to sleep and we'll go to the hospital in the morning. You're doing a great job." I was like, "No, for real . . . it's time . . . Wake up, we gotta go right NOW." I threw my clothes on and brushed my teeth, trying not to wake the baby as I was yelling in pain. Charlie came into the bathroom while I was getting dressed and took some pictures . . . he was like, "Come on, smile! Quit wincing!" And then he came in dressed and said, "Do you like this shirt?" And THEN while I was WAITING at the front door, holding my bag and pillow and the keys, he came out holding sneakers and sandals and said, "Which do you think will be more comfortable? Shoes or flipflops cuz I will probably be on my feet for hours and hours." I almost killed him. Obviously he didn't know the extent of my labor. I was like, "No, it won't be HOURS it will be right here on the floor in a couple of minutes if you don't HURRY UP!" We woke my mom to tell her we were leaving and I kissed Seahorse goodbye. Mom called Jen to come over and stay with Horsie so she could meet us up there. Contractions 30 seconds long and 2 minutes apart on the way to the hospital--we left the house at 10 minutes till 2 (a.m.). When we got to the hospital around 2 am, I was crying and yelling out in pain all the way in and at the nurses desk while Charlie was trying to check in. (He later told me he was totally embarrassed and that people were staring at us.) The nurses gave me a chair to sit down in but I held onto the arm rests and squatted down in the chair and they yelled, "No! Don't push! Oh, no, she's bearing down!" I was crying for some Stadol (drugs) when we got there and when they checked me and I was already 7 cm, they said you won't have time for drugs if you want an epidural. Um, yeah . . . I am PRETTY sure I want an epidural! I had to get my IV in and gown on and go through an ENTIRE bag of fluids before they gave me the epidural. It seemed like forever but I bet it was only a half an hour . . . the longest half an hour of my life! I'm not sure but I think they put in the epidural after only a half of a bag of fluids because I was screaming so hard. As I was rolling in pain waiting for the epidural, Charlie was relaxing on the couch on the other side of my room, texting our family and friends updates on the labor. If I could have gotten up to strangle him, I would have. He was just kicked back, talking on the phone and laughing, smiling . . . getting ready, all excited . . . while I was DYING in the bed. Funny in hindsight but I wasn't laughing then. When my mom got up to the nurses desk at labor and delivery, they said, "Oh, you must be the mother of the one who came in screaming." Another family member humiliated. Good job, Molly. Anyway, got the epidural and was happy . . . when they checked me 15 mintues after the epidural, I was already at 10 cm, ready to push, they said, as soon as the doctor was ready. So I bet I was at a 9 when I got the epidural . . . no drugs and 9 cm . . . wow, I rule! Dr. Hersh was the doctor on call. I hadn't met him previously but he was very nice. He was surprised that we were waiting until the baby was born to find out the sex . . . I asked him to guess what he thought it was and he said "girl." I was like, "Really? You think it's a girl?" He laughed and said, "You told me to guess . . . it's 50-50." I started pushing around 3:20, I believe. It was nothing like Seahorse's birth, he was painless and popped right out . . . The back of Taylor's head was out and everyone was laughing at how much hair the baby had. One nurse said "It's so long you could put it in a ponytail!" Then, for a second I thought it was a girl. Again, it was just a fleeting thought and then I thought, "Get real, Molly. You KNOW it's a boy." (haha). At 3:50 a.m. on September 27th, everyone shouted "It's a GIRL!" Charlie, my mom, and I were all FLOORED!!! Taylor was a wonderful, sweet surprise! We are obsessed with our little Tater Tot . . . she is sweet as pie and so loveable and loving.

Fun weekend . . . went to church, ran errands, went to the park a couple of times . . . we love the "water park" best . . . run through sprinklers . . . so fun, but we can't bring Herk :( Horsie is so fun and smiley . . . always in a good mood. He learned tons of new words this weekend . . . eyes, home . . . I can't think of any others cuz it's late :) We took his swimsuit off when we got home from the water park tonight, so he was running around the house naked (nothing new!) before his bath while Charlie and I were finishing our dinner and we looked under the table and he had pooped on the carpet and was smashing it into the carpet with his feet. It was ALL over . . . and then Herkie tried to eat it. Soooooo funny. Oh, and Horsie got his own ice cream cone for the first time . . . a little baby one from DQ . . . he LOVED holding it. We figured he always eats all of our icecream anyway. And Charlie thought nothing of letting Seahorse run around the house eating a grape popsicle this weekend too . . . I got a laugh out of that, after I cleaned up the mess . . . He's so innocent (Daddy), it cracks me up. Horsie and I had an OB appt. today. He loves hearing his brother's heartbeat on the monitor (??? could be sister but I doubt it!). He sits on my lap and pokes my belly-button and says "tickle-tickle." So cute! Heartrate 144 today . . . makes me think boy even more although the doc (she is actually a P.A.) said you're better off going with your gut than the heartrate theory, but I still think it's accurate USUALLY. The doc said to stop carrying Seahorse and start sitting down more cuz they're freaking out about my cervix opening up a "fingertip's width' already but I am not worried. I think the baby just needs more room in there. I thinned early with Seahorse too but then it stopped. Tonight at dinner, Daddy Charlie was feeding Horsie some fettuccine and Horse was opening up his mouth wide, so Daddy said, "You look like a little birdie!" and Horsie replied "Cheep-cheep-cheep!" Daddy and I were shocked! We didn't even know he knew what a birdie was!

The Seahorse Ries is getting so big!!! He talks all the time now and his vocabulary seems to grow every day!!! Here are some of the words he says: Dadda, Mama, Kiki (Herkie), num-num (food), tree, sip, dip, rinse, diapie (diaper), kitty, Papa, Nana, Daisy, eight (and can recognize the number), no, yeah, A (amen), ah-ah-ah (no), night-night, hi, buh-bye, read, up, down, all done, hot, tickle-tickle, ouch etc. He loves making sounds too--favorites are cars, dogs, cats, duck, cow, horse, pig, monkey, zebra, elephant, tiger or lion, and fish . . . and if you say "What does a dog (cow, kitty, etc.) say?" he will make the noise as well . . . so we know he knows the words! It seemed like he just started talking out of nowhere and just took off!!! He amazes us every day! We are so taken with this sweet, tall, skinny little bundle of love!!!
